She's supposed to be my mother, Brandon thought.
Mary looked at him,, visibly confused. Probably because he was standing there watching her. She tried to make a funny face. She was a sight. She was the size of an adult, but had the figure of a child.
He finally stopped and began laying out clothes for her. The evidence an adult woman lived in this room was mostly gone. He couldn't find a mature thing in her drawers. He laid out a dress.
"Mary," he said, finally, "do you know what is going on?" She looked like she was about to answer when he stopped her. He decided he wasn't yet ready to hear the answer.
He was more comfortable getting her ready for the day. For what, he didn't know. It wasn't like she could go to work in her condition, any more than he could go to school.
He got her down to breakfast and was taking a moment to breath when the doorbell rang. By this time, it was about 7AM.
He got up, unsure of what would happen. He stopped at the mirror on his way. He could pass for a teenage girl...maybe not the best looking one. He might have to do some quick thinking.
He opened the door to see Mrs. Tanner and her two sons, his best friends, Trevor and Bobby.
