Brandon finished his tea, closed the paper, and headed upstairs to check on Mary.

He slipped into her room. She was sound asleep still, looking rather angelic. He felt that strange feeling of contentment and pleasure he'd felt before, the one he couldn't identify.

However, a few seconds later, he felt something else. Surprise and a bit of fear. The walls were closing in. He hadn't noticed it initially because it was happening slowly. But the amount of empty carpet was shrinking...and so was the furniture.

Brandon shook Mary awake, suddenly panicking as the queen sized bed she slept on began to shrink as well. They needed to get out of here. "Wake up..." he said.

The woman-child slowly stirred, completely oblivious to Brandon's panic, and sat up. The bed continued to shrink till it was the size of a child's twin.

Mary, urged on by Brandon, slowly swung her legs over the size of the bed and got up. The day before, Brandon had been 4 feet 4 inches tall. He knew this because his mother had marked this on the wall. She'd jokingly marked her own height as well, when he'd asked if he'd ever be as tall as her.

Mary was a foot taller, at 5 feet 4 inches tall. Or she had been. He wasn't about to go measure either of them right now, but he knew he'd grown...and she might have shrunk. They were the same height.

He looked at her for a long few seconds from that perspective. Suddenly the walls closing in was the furthest thing from his mind.
