Brandon stood in front of the mirror, looking at himself. He felt a desire to not notice what was going on again, not because of any outside pressure, but because the whole thing was getting to him. He tried to distract himself by thinking about something else.
He actually started to calm down. He'd been in a state of agitation since he realized what was going on. While he thought of something else, he absent-mindedly began to get dressed. Keeping his mind off the facts meant that he didn't panic about putting on a bra, panties, or a dress.
He headed downstairs, and peeked out of the front door and brought in the newspaper. He filled up the electric kettle and boiled a glass of tea, and sat down to read the paper. It just...felt normal, which was comforting to him. He wanted things to go back to normal.
