The girls entered the larger hallway which seemed to brighten as they entered, the whole house seemed to react positively to them as they moved through it.
"This place is weird." Trinity said.
"Yeah, but it's also pretty cool." Jade said, admiring the way the walls seemed to move around, some form of optical allusion she assumed.
"I've never seen anything like this." Nadine was awed by the size of the place, which could only be compared to a church in it's size, built not to God, but to the one's own greatness.
They came to a staircase.
"So before you come up....Surprise!" Delilah revealed herself to the girls, wearing a cheerleader outfit with her hair curled, make up done and a huge smile on her face. She thought it best to rip the bandaid of her being alive and now a full fledged member of the team off in one big moment. Sarah was too sick to tell her it was a bad idea.
"GO!!!! TEAM!!" She cheered proudly.
The girls looked on in confusion. Who was this girl? Still there was something oddly familiar about her.
"Oh come on! You don't...It's me." Delilah was disappointed her display hadn't had the desired effect.
"Delia?" Jade finally broke through.
" Yeah, well, sort of. I'm Delilah now. Always have been. Well mostly, I mean I was Delia once, but she made that wish and now here I am! Pretty great, huh?'
Delia was much improved as Delilah. Prettier, preppy, and perfected against the flaws of her old self. The old Delia was wracked with confusion about who she was, why things were the way they were, and felt trapped in her life and circumstance. Delilah reveled in all of it, she was literally made for it by the mistake of her wishes interaction with other magic.
"Yeah...it's something." "But you died!" "Wow" "Are you still you?" Were the reactions she got.
"Yeah, it's best to not worry about it, I don't. I'm happy, I'm me, that's all that matters."
They all spent a second gawking at the cheerleader who before had been their panicky friend.
"Ok, weird" Was Delilah's reaction to this attention. " Sarah's upstairs, she's not feeling well all a sudden. Want to see the place?"
and so they toured the place. The whole time the group was astonished at the change in their friend. She seemed the same Delia they had briefly known, if she hadn't had freaked out, had she just gone with it and enjoyed it.
Finally they got to the bathroom where Sarah was. She looked near death and the room she was in reflected it, dim and faded in contrast with the greatness of the house.
"It's my fault, it's my fault, It's my fault. Glad-" She then passed out.
