The ride over was odd, they all piled into the car and headed over with the same joyful mundanity of going out to get ice cream. It wasn't until they were on the road that they realized that no one had actually been to Sarah's place before, nor did they know how to get there. It therefore took some texting to find out the address. Nadine thought she might live in The Hills, which was her neighborhood, a more well to do section of town, but she was wrong. Sarah lived outside of town on a large ranch estate, away from everything. It was even odder then when they found out that they had been headed in the right direction the whole time.
Miranda had been driving on instinct yet still had pointed them in the right direction, a direction that was completely counter intuitive.
"Wait...this is really weird." Jade was the first to notice.
" It could just be chance, maybe Miranda is just lucky." Karyn offered
" No, not that, I mean yeah, that's weird too but, do any of you really want to go over to Sarah's house? She is the reason we are in this mess, why would we want to hang out with her?"
They all sat and thought about it for a second, because they were all feeling the same thing, the same pull towards that spot, despite their internal dislike of Sarah which they all understood intellectually. Nobody wanted to admit they wanted to go, but all of them did.
"Jade's right, I mean, I don't like Sarah, but I really want to see what her house is like." Was the excuse that Nadine came up with.
"I don't like Sarah either but maybe she can explain some of the things that are happening to us?" Jen offered.
"Oh come on, say it, she's a bitch." Was Trinity's injection. " but then again, maybe we are too now." She said looking at her reflection in the mirror.
" Hey now, no need to curse." Nadine countered. " She's just, a different class of person than we are used to..."
" Yeah, she's more of a bitch than anyone and she likes to play games with people. I'm going over to kick her ass until she turns us back." Trinity returned.
"You can't." Miranda interrupted, she was mainly focused on driving.
"Why, cause she's the school queen? Fuck her." Trinity was revved up.
"No, because she's the source of this, we need her on our side." Miranda had experience being popular as Randy, so she knew better how to deal with that crowd. You could get along with Sarah if she liked you, but if she didn't she could make your life hell, that was the power of her popularity.
"Oh, you so willing to play her game. Her game involves dresses and nail polish you know." Trinity shot back with venom.
"You don't know Sarah like I do. She'll have you outcast from the whole school, goths included." Miranda defended
"I'm used to being outcast, I can take it, it's worth not having to be a princess."
Jade snickered at this.
"What's so funny dweeb?"
"You have seen yourself in a mirror right? If anyone of us is a naturally a princess it's you."
"Doesn't mean I have to be one. I mean I get it, I'm hot." She took a moment to stick her chest out and brush out her hair amplifying her best features. "So what? You jealous?" Trinity turned her attention to Jade.
" Well, yeah. If I have be a girl, better to be a hot one." She had felt insecure as a guy but it was nothing compared to what she felt as a girl, she felt like she was tagging along with people much above herself, she didn't just feel insecure, she felt inferior.
"I'm just ok." She said quietly to herself.
"Oh please, if I could give this too you." She hefted a large breast in her hand. "I totally would."
Jenny interrupted.
"I'm with Miranda. I think beating up Sarah could just make things worse for us. It's not Sarah we need to worry about anyway, it's Mrs. Holloway. We make Sarah angry we might have her to deal with and she is the one with the real power." Jenny made a good point and most of the girls nodded.
Except Trinity. "Bring it." Was her response.
" She might bring turning you into a mindless cheerleader bimbo, She already made you a babe. You ready for that?" Karyn backed up Jenny.
Before Trinity could answer Miranda interjected. "We're here."
