At the show, Athena and Zoe were trying to take care of Trinity. Trinity was an odd duck in their group, her natural beauty and athleticism had lead her to be courted by the cheerleading team, at least in their eyes, to Trinity she had only recently be changed from Trevor, goth boy, to Trinity, cheerleading candidate, by magic. The cheerleading thing was strange, it clashed with everything they stood for as goths, socially and just in tone. Goths were black, often introverted, social outcasts, outsiders...all the things that cheerleaders were not. To Athena and Zoe this courtship was an affect of a "late bloomer" syndrome which had happened in Trinity, seeming over the course of a few months she had blossomed from average to astounding, gaining curves and losing weight in all the ways a model would hope for. Trinity wasn't used to this, and tried to hide it as best she could, but everybody noticed, even Steve Farber had asked her out, despite her social standing. It was a lot of new attention that she didn't know what to do with, and it had given her a lot to think about, who she was, or was going to be was up for grabs at the moment, and Zoe and Athena were making their bid to try and keep her in the group with this night out at a concert. At least in their eyes they were.
To Trinity this was an attempt at being normal again....of holding on to who he was when he was a he...This was an act of defiance against what she had been made, and in that way it was true in both senses. To Trinity as she was known and as she was to herself, this was an attempt at being her old self...and it wasn't going well. She failed to mosh. She couldn't do it, she actually felt scared. The music wasn't moving her, something felt off about it, it's anger didn't reflect her anger, she felt a desire to lose control, but no way in which to do it. Like a carpenter with no tools, she didn't know what to do with her body.
Athena and Zoe were checking in:
"So how do you think it's going?" Zoe yelled over the nose of the show.
"Not good. She's getting a drink instead of joining the crowd. It's not like her."Athena yelled back.
"What should we do?"
"What can we do?"
"Want to try moshing her?"
"Not now....a cute guy is talking to her"
It's true, once again a guy was trying his luck with the hot goth chick. Trinity looked awkward and would have loved to be saved from it, because she didn't know how to flirt or get a guy to leave, but Zoe and Athena thought she liked the attention, so they just sort of let it happen.
"Did you bring any booze?" Zoe asked
"No, I..." Suddenly there was a flash, it could have come from the show but this felt different. When Athena looked back at Zoe she had subtly changed. She looked better, slightly taller, her hair much longer, and her chest looked more pronounced than before. Also she seemed somewhat less gothic than before, she still was in black, but now her makeup was more "night out" and less "vampire".
"WHOA! Zoe! What happened to you!" Athena yelled out!
"What are you talking about?"
"You totally just changed before my eyes!...Like....magic!"
Zoe looked down at herself...."I don't see anything. I feel normal, is it bad?"
"No you look good." Zoe liked the compliment and smiled at it...Zoe was never one for smiling.
"Huh....so do you think we can go? Jenny just texted me and wants to make sure Trinity doesn't do anything too brash tonight"
"Probably a good idea" Athena gave Zoe another look, as she glided and bummed her way over to Trinity and grabbed her, thankfully from the paws of another suitor. Trinity had never been more happy to see her friend. "OH Zoey! We've got to go...see you...thanks so much!" They flaunted off into the night...Zoey, Trinity, and a very confused Athena.
