As I was going through the options, I saw one that was interesting. It was called Role Reversal. It was described as "10% chance to extract oil from enemy Phesurs after loss with 10% health or worse." That meant even if I got my ass kicked, I still had a chance to win. As a level 1 Player, I would be a sitting duck unless I could get some easy wins strung along. I decided that it would be a useful defense mechanism. Because of that, I used the 10 bonus points for it. Role Reversal had two branches. Each point improved an aspect of the skill by 5% up to 25%. After that, one had to choose one to make 100%. I filled it out to use 8 points. I made it so that I could extract oil from any enemy Phesur with a 25% chance to activate. With the remaining 3 points I went to the Exoskeleton tree. It split into three branches. One was Density. Another was Micro Spikes The other was Toughness. I put 1 point in each. Density gave me 5% bonus bonus AP, or Armor Points per level. Toughness gave me a flat +10 AP per level. Micro Spikes gave bleeding damage to those that hit me with their bare flesh.

I still had 5 more points to set. I went to the combat tree and saw what I could do to give myself some offensive power. Being able to defend and hold on was one thing, but without any fighting power, I would just be a turtle. I wound up putting 3 points in Melee and 2 in the Hand to Hand skill trees. That gave me a 10% damage increase to my fists and feet. Melee split into two. I also got 10% damage with bladed weapons and 5% with some blunt objects. Looking at my stats, I had 100 HP and 116AP. I then decided to learn about Wovili. Wovili was a societal hub for Phesurs It was a large, 100 cubic miles. Half was above ground and half was below. Those with higher status were at the middle. Those at the bottom were drones focused solely on the production and management of honey, wax, and the eggs. They never saw the light of day. Just above them were the forges. Above them were the younglings. The levels just below the surface were for the servants of the nobles. The ground floor was for the nobles. Above them on floors 5-10 were the royal palaces.

There was a transitional floor before the armory and barracks. That was were the fighters lived. Above them were the workers that went out to gather nectar. I was a youngling just coming of age. I would be getting my role in the hive soon. I preferred a role above ground. If I was stuck underground, I would not be able to see the human arrival on the planet or explore. I had a quest to go to the area where I would get my new designation. I got up and began walking. I not only had to make it to the center, but also go up two floors. The encyclopedia said that here were many that slipped through the cracks because they were captured and bred. I had been walking for a few minutes when I heard a buzzing noise. I looked around to see someone coming from behind me. I stopped to let him pass. When the Phesur made a beeline toward me, I moved to the side. As it changed course, I knew it wanted me. I sighed and waited. It tried a diving kick, but I dodged it. It got up and said "I am Krux. I'm going to be your dominant." I raised my fists and said "Hell no!" He did the same with a smirk.
