Sarah met Ms. Holloway for dinner at a fancy restaurant in town. Sarah was from a rich family, who owned the major industry of their town, in some strange ways that made her town royalty ( Delia's family had always resented her family for this reason, but maintained a better friends than enemies relationship with them). Sarah was super enthusiastic, excited, off the wall happy. Ms. Holloway, ever cool, ever collected and always matter of fact, tamed this feeling.
"I can't believe it worked" Sarah started. "This is going to be so great!!"
"If they choose to join, you mean" Ms. Holloway corrected.
"Well of course they will! You gave them the push didn't you?"
"they still have to make the choice to join, you picked some rather interesting people. I'm not so sure that you'll get the goth, you may have made a powerful enemy there."
Trinity will come around, she still has to see what's in store for her at home." Sarah protested, this was her project. It had to go right, in Ms. Holloway she had been given a chance at making her own team, at making the perfect team, and getting rid of a bunch of nobodies at school.
I did think she would be more....you know, normal though, Delia too" Sarah poked at Ms. Holloway.
" I never promised you that I would make them completely new people, that's not the point. You can't make a meal without ingredients and if the ingredients are raw they need to be cooked. She might come around, or she may not, I've done all I'm going to do for her right now, she is who she's supposed to be, what you asked me to do to the others was done to her as well. It's just time to tell us how that works out....with any of them really." Ms. Holloway defended, she was a being of immense power, wisdom and grace, she wasn't going to talked down to by a teenaged girl.
Ok, so what do I need to know.' Sarah responded more meekly.
"well changes have been made, for one Nadine's family now works for your father, they are richer than they were...and Karyn might be into magic, but I warned her not to use it."
What might happen to her?
If she is using two types of magic, it's like having two pop bottles glued together at the mouths, with her in the middle, with oil in one and water in the other, eventually they will bleed into each other, mix, but each thing has it's own separate purpose, and each one would try and fulfill it's purpose. If it can't then those magics could do any number of things. We will have to keep an eye on her for any changes."
What will changes mean? Sarah asked.
I don't know... replied Ms. Holloway
