Athena was somewhat surprised to see Zoe at her doorstep. The thing that was in her that used to be Sarah told her that she didn't hang with that type of girl, she was above that nonsense and darkness, but she pushed that aside, for the part that was herself knew that this was her friend and she was happy to see her.
"Oh thank Goddess you came!" Athena said. "Come up, I've got a lot to tell you."
Zoe came in. "so this is your place now?"
"Yeah, and Biff is my boyfriend, but I'll give you details about that later." she said with sly smile that Athena never would have made. Zoe wasn't one for gossip, and she knew that, but how could she not be impressed with having a guy like that.
"So, what happened?" Zoe asked, as soon as they got to Athena's new room with the sky light and the balcony.
"with this." Athena said. Holding out the blindfold that Sarah had worn when she was spinning and pointing.
"I Hated Sarah, she was a bitch, and she was never going to pay for it. She had everything, money, power, people listened to her and would do what she said because she was cunning or simply because she was hot and knew how to use it and she made all of us feel like shit.
So last night I cast a spell on her. over the past few months I have been courting the Goddess Justice to free us from her tyranny, and I woke up with this in my pocket yesterday.
She held out the blindfold.
"it's the blindfold that covers the eyes of justice!" But I know better than to use it, Magic like that is dangerous you do well to stay away from anything that powerful or it will burn you up, so i cast a convincing spell on sarah to make her use it instead. I told her that she could make the perfect squad if she used it."
"And then you got picked and it backfired." Zoe said, understanding the situation and feeling a lot of relief, her friend had done a good thing, it had just not gone as well as she might have hoped.
"No actually, I sort of kind thought this might happen."
"and you still did it?" Zoe was pissed now, How could she chose this life!
"There are rules, and if you cast a spell on someone it's going to reflect back on you in some way, it always does. I knew something might happen, i just didn't know what. Now here i am. I took out Sarah, she's gone now, It's like she never was, but is at the same time. There never was a person Sarah McMillan now, she was effectivly erased from existence by being divided between the people she choose. Like cutting an apple up and giving the peices to a bunch of different people, the apple becomes a part of all of them, and afterwards there is no apple, except in this case the apple had much more of an effect. All the things that were Sarah are now a part of us, so here i am. I'm the new Sarah."
"So what about the others then?" Zoe asked. "Are they all Sarah too?"
"In part" Athena said, "they all have parts of her somewhere inside of them. It's the thing that's made them what they are now, and why i sent them home, so they can come to grips with having a part of her in there lives, reality has been changed so that they will reflect a part of Sarah in the world, since she is no longer here to do that. Same is true for me...which explains the house and stuff."
"I think i understand...but what does that mean for you? Do you like this?" Zoe said, pointing out the very unAthena surroundings.
"It's growing on me, it's different, but i guess it's ok." Athena tried to make it sound like she liked it less than she actually did. She didn't want to alienate her friend......"Now lets talk about what this means for you...."
