Karyn joined the group, a giggling flirty babe, she let her hair down, tied her shirt into a knot in the back to show off more of her form and making the best of a bad set of clothing, and smiled a hundred watt smile at the remaining crowd, as if she was a girl at a beauty pageant.
What happened next was unexpected and horrifying. Sarah, the leader of the pack, standing over Jon about to point to him and make him a cheerleader, when suddenly her skin paled, the paint on her finger turned black, and her hair darkened. Sarah looked at her hand confused, stopping her from taking that final move to add Jon to her troupe.
Then a shudder when through her, as she became very androgynous, not quite male or female, a sexless being, letting out a yelp that cracked like the voice of a thirteen year old boy. Her hair fell limp, and greasy, as her vision blurred, and her skin burst out in pimples.
There seemed to be an energy flowing off her as this happened, the final pieces of her were falling away, finding new homes in the people she had changed.
Then she horribly and quickly aged, her bones cracked, her face sagged, she stooped standing up, the life of youth leaving her in a flash. She wheesed her breaths, with great labor. Looking with confused horror at the women she had created. She hissed the words "who did this" softly.
Finally, and with a whimper, she reached out her boney hand for someone, trying to grab onto the new Karyn, but ask she reached she fell, disappearing gas-like into the space that now held 5 new Cheerleaders.
Athena smiled, and yelled to the girls, ignoring what had just happened, and taking charge of the situation and the crowd.
Ok, Girls lets show them what we can DO! Five Six Seven EIGHT!
What followed was a cheer routine, worthy of Hollywood or ESPN 2 on a Saturday morning. Lenna former fat nerd was now a cute and tiny athletic flyer, flipping in the air as she was tossed by Randi the tall and busty brunette, standing 5 foot ten but who moved with such feminine grace for her size. Karyn smiled her smile at the crowd, an adorable girl next door, who knew she was pretty and used that to her advantage with the crowd, as she did cartwheels, and flips with Sandy, the flexible wonder girl, who just bubbled with energy that she fed to the crowd. All of this lead by Athena, who lead the cheers to a confused crowd of remaining friends, watching people they once knew do things they never thought they could.
Athena smiled, the queen bee was dead. Long live the queen.
