Sarah was surprised that she was able to get through the back door without anyone stopping her. Then again, considering what the Transformation Guns were capable of, could any security guards effectively prevent anyone from leaving? How could one successfully put the school on lockdown with this kind of crisis?
Sarah didn't know. But she did know what she was going to do now. She ignored the sound of a 'Yee-ha!' followed by the sound of a country music fiddle from the cafeteria window, and moved to the front of the school and headed down the street. The other Transformation Guns could wait.
Karyn followed her. This turn of events surprised her. Why is she leaving the school grounds with that?
She continued to follow Sarah down the street for several blocks.
It was not long before they came to the site where the new bank was being constructed. A few construction vehicles were on the site, including a cement mixer.
Sarah brushed past the barrier of the construction site, and moved toward the area where the sidewalk was being constructed. The cement mixer moved into position to pour a new load of cement into an empty space. And it was into that empty space that Sarah tossed the Random Gun.
Instantly, the Random Gun became covered in cement. Its trigger was immobilized and its barrel was filled. Soon, it nearly disappeared completely, leaving a large lump of wet cement. From the looks of it, it was quick drying cement.
"What are you DOING?" Karyn shouted at last, pulling Sarah back to the side of the barrier she was supposed to be on.
"Destroying a dangerous weapon." Sarah replied. "You should know ... you were one of its victims!"
Sarah then rushed off, back in the direction she had come. Karyn followed close behind her. Behind them, they could hear yelling and cursing as the construction workers discovered what had happened.
After they were halfway down the road leading back to the school, Sarah sat down to rest. And ... she found herself crying. She needed the emotional release.
"Sarah, what's going on?" Karyn asked.
"What do you care?" Sarah said bitterly. "Why are you taking an interest in what I'm doing NOW? You and your friend couldn't give a shit about what happens to us!"
"Sarah, I've been stuck in the bathroom the past half hour. All I know is that Mrs. Williams found a crazy Random Gun, and started changing everyone in her class ... including me. And somehow you got it from her and took it here. And I heard whisperings of other strange guns in the hall. That's all I know."
Sarah calmed down. "Sit down. It's a long story." she said with a sigh.
She and Karyn had never gotten along, but they were in this together now. Karyn deserved to know everything.
Meanwhile, back at the school, the rest of the group was still investigating the Transformation Guns. Their mission -- find the remaining Transformation Guns and confiscate them. Already, the Nerd Gun, Geek Gun, Slut Gun, Fat Gun, and Hippie Gun were under lock and key in the Principal's office.
Now Jay Duncan and Rebecca Fadil were searching for whoever had the 'Goth Gun', and the rest were hearing rumors of at least four other Transformation Guns.
Nicole Tiller was the unofficial leader in Sarah's absence. Along with the transformed Brad Stephens, she was going out into the hall to ask around about the remaining guns. Melissa Smith was remaining behind in Principal Davison's office, as was Kyla Leeson. Melissa was still hoping that another Transformation Gun would be around to reverse the effects of the 'Fat Gun'.
Soon after, they would run across other transformed people.
