Bethany, in Jon's body, decided to tell the truth.

"Rosaria found out about the existance of the stone from Karyn's memories. She wished that she would never have to go back to her old body and old life. She was that desperate to avoid being deported back to Mexico. That wish is what got your friend killed. I'm sorry."

Jon, in Bethany's body, stared at her former body in shock. "So THAT's how Karyn got killed? Where's Rosaria?"

"In hiding, probably." Bethany replied. "She couldn't face you or Karyn's family knowing that she got the real Karyn killed, even if no one outside this room knows she had anything to do with it."

"So what do we do now?" Sarah, in Joe-Bob's body said. "You said you want to use the stone to wish Karyn back to life. But are you sure?"

"Joe-Bob, or Sarah, has a point." Bethany replied. "If you mess it up, you could bring her back as a zombie or something. You don't even remember using the stone before until now."

Jon sighed. "I know it's risky, but I've got to do something. Karyn's my friend. I can't just let her be killed in someone else's body. I've got to make the right wish."

"Okay, you've got the stone. If you really want to make a wish, better word it just right." Bethany said.

Jon stood there for a while, trying desperately to think of the wish, and the proper wording, that would bring Karyn back and make everything right. Then...
