Sarah leaned over to the kid next to her, who she also didn't know. "That girl up there with the black hair. What's her name?"
"Are you kidding?" The girl said. "That's Holly Simpson. She's the hottest girl in school and the head cheerleader. Everyone knows that."
"I've never noticed her before."
The girl looked at her incredulously. "You're pretty new here, right? You've been sitting there for a while...like a few weeks maybe. I don't remember how long."
"I've gone to this school since freshman year," Sarah said, frustrated.
She got a puzzled response. "Really?" She seemed legitimately surprised. "I don't remember us ever talking even."
"I've never talked to you before," Sarah said.
"Well..." She paused as the teacher began to talk, forcing them to quiet down.
Sarah wasn't sure what was going on. But she knew she needed to talk to Holly Simpson.
