I had a chance to decide whether or not to accept the parameters set. I decided not to edit it at all. I didn't even look at the menus again. There were no other changes I wanted to make. It was time to get going and play the game. I was surprised as my body morphed. The mirror let me see my whole body at once. It was pretty strange. I did not really have a body at all. I was just a spot of yellow ooze the size of a penny. Moving around was pretty exciting. I did things like this often and I loved it. I looked around and saw a door. I moved over to it slipped under the crack of the door. A popup appeared in front of me saying "You are now leaving the character creation room and entering the game. You will not be allowed to return here again. Are you sure you wish to leave?". I knew that lots of time had already passed. I wanted to hurry and find Suzie. It was a bright white light I could not see through. I guessed I was supposed to ooze just through it to get to the game. I did and continued on for what felt like a good 10 seconds. The world probably needed some time to load, I guessed.

My eyes blinked and I was suddenly in an empty, alleyway. It was dingy and l walked to the street. I looked around for a few minutes. This setting did not track at all with what I was told by Suzie or what I had read myself in the developers' blogs. The streets had cars driving by and the people on the streets were wearing modern clothes that I saw in the real world. I had to look at the menu and look at where I was. When I saw that I was in an entirely different world, I was upset. "Shit! Where the hell am I then!?" I said as I hissed in frustration. I looked again and saw that the world of Zodia was a low fantasy world. I was not against the idea, so it was not all bad. Some of my favorite anime shared the setting. Looking closer at the menu's built in encyclopedia, there was a lot of Chinese folklore in the setting. 13% of the population had the ability to transform into magical boys and girls. The 13 animals that appeared in the legend of the zodiac each gave 1% of the population a fraction of their power to repel evil. They could transform and use supernatural powers. That was cool.

The animals that appeared in the myth were the pig, dog, rooster, monkey, sheep, horse, snake, dragon, rabbit, tiger, ox, rat and cat. The cat was the outcast that slept in and missed the race for the Jade Emperor's feast. As such, those that had the cat's blessing were seen as lepers among those that had powers. There were also the five elements to contend with: wood, fire, earth, metal, and water. That made for 65 different iterations of magical boy or girl. I checked my trees and I could see them light up. At level 1, the player was given five skill points to allocate. Non humans also had 5 skill points to set in the skills at the beginning of the game. Villains also received a bonus of 5 skill points. The downside was all NPC heroes would instantly aggro you. Since it was the first week of the game, there was a perk of having an additional 5 skill points. That meant I had 20 skill points to allocate as I saw fit. There were too many skill trees to max out, so I had to choose wisely. Wasting this obvious advantage would be near sinful at this point. That was the last thing I wanted to do.
