Karyn snatched the notepad away from Jon, and her jaw dropped. "You mean I haven't always been like this!?" she gasped. Jon shook his head. "Nope. Believe it or not, you used to be an ordinary human."
Karyn looked herself over. This was the way she'd always been; a mostly human girl with fox ears and a tail, furred lower arms and lower legs, claws for fingernails, and paws for feet. This was how she remembered herself, and yet apparently she'd been fully human just a moment ago.
She really didn't mind, though - sure, growing up different than the other kids had been tough at times, but she was happy with her body, and it wasn't like she really wanted to fit in that much anyway. But still...Jon shouldn't get to be more human than her. She grabbed the magic pencil...
