We made it to the bottom of the stairs. The stairwell sealed up behind us and I winced. That meant that there was a boss fight ahead. I was not sure that Daniel was up for it. When we got through the opening and into the final chamber. We saw a black scaled naga with olive skin holding a black spell book. He saw us and hissed. "Who are you!? I will not suffer anymore distractions from my plan to start my army of the undead. This city will know the true terror of the naga tribes. Maybe then they will think twice before encroaching on our territory." I looked at the two children caught in his tail. They were two boys and they were both whimpering in fear. There was a dead girl laying on the ground in a magic circle. I checked the menu and saw there were three minutes left. I asked why he attacked the children. The naga scoffed and said "I don't care about human children. They were all poking around the crypt playing a game when I came here and began my magic. I found these three and were going to use them for my spells when the girl bit me." He chuckled darkly and said "I bit her back."
I could already gauge that this encounter was way too much for Daniel. I pointed at the children. "Our quest is the children. We are only staying for a few days. Give us the children and you can practice the magic in peace. It is not like the dead are going anywhere." I proposed slowly. He paused and thought about it for moment. The air passed by his lips in a subdued hiss. He said "How do I know you won't just bring an army to attack me?" the naga asked. "The other children we rescued will do that on their own. The question is whether or not you will be able to enact your plan or not. Even if you killed us, it will take a lot of time mana and health. Those are resources you can't afford to lose." The naga thought about it before nodding. His tail relaxed and the children scrambled towards us. The boys hid behind us and shook in terror. I almost felt bad for them. "Before I let you go, I have a task for you. The dead laid to rest here are the greatest heroes of this city. They are resistant to my magic. They require an amulet of Gristomales, god of death. Give me an amulet and I will reward you."
A popup appeared and we looked at each other. A smile spread across our faces. Thick as thieves to the end. "We can certainly steal one. What will you give us for one of them?" The naga gave us both a cold smile that did not reach his eyes and said "Name your price." I pointed my finger excitedly at him and said "I want you. If we do this we get to fuck you in that slit you have!" I said to catch him off guard. He flinched before my mocking smile made him relax. "You really like to play around, do you?" he said. "500 gold each and you've got a deal." He looked at me unimpressive. "Pretty cheap, are you? Or unimaginative, perhaps?" he said. I shrugged. "I couldn't sleep at night on a bed made of gold and blood. 500 is a good number that can be carried and handled easily. I don't want any 'Wait until the end.' or 'Five installments over a year.' from you. Have the money by tonight." The door opened up and we lead the children with us. When we got outside the quest was cleared. It said "Children saved 9/11. Siblings saved 2/2. Children killed 2/11. Reward 9000 exp." Pretty good over all.
