There was a lot to choose from. Since I had six skill points I wanted the most bang for my buck. I check the encyclopedia to read about alpha and omega dynamics. The encyclopedia was very helpful. Since it was in our genetic codes, we were seen as new species of humans. That meant that we could be treated differently depending on the nation. In some factions, they were treated as the elite of society. Others were made eternal wards of the state, slaves that only lived to further the ambitions of the nation. In some, there was discrimination against either omegas or alphas. There could be a combination of two or all three situations. In Wendalia, the king came from a line of alphas. Needless to say, they were favored. On the other hand, Omegas were looked down on. They were not attacked or denied employment, but there was culture that seen them as the lesser pilots. The Nulls and Alphas did openly mock and belittle Omegas. Alphas especially tried to subjugate Omegas at every turn. It was much better to be an alpha here.

On the other hand, I was not interested in just fighting. I wanted to really fly and pilot the mechas myself. As a switch, there was nothing stopping me from just allocating in the Omega trees and choosing to be an Alpha in the academy anyway. The progress would be slower and it might mean I would be at the back of the Alpha class, but it might be worth it. The decision could wait until I got to the academy. I had a letter of transfer and the uniform on my body. I asked people on the street where I could find the academy. They pointed it out to me and I followed their instructions to the best of my ability. I was able to get there in under an in-game hour. I smoothed out my uniform and held my form in my hands. A guard came up to me and saluted. I returned the salute before handing it to him. He looked at it before giving a terse nod. If he was annoyed, I could not see it on his face. "Follow me." he said. I followed him wordlessly. We walked to the school building. When we reached a classroom on the fourth floor, he knocked on the door and waited a moment.

When the door opened, we walked in. I stood in front of the classroom. They all looked at me with interest. It was a class with thirty desks. Only one desk was empty. It was the second from the front and by the window. Half of the class were Draks. There were five Muro and seven Loko as well. The rest of the class was a rainbow of hair and eyes. I guess I was no different. I introduced myself and gave a salute. They returned it and I went to sit at my desk. The guard gave a salute that we returned before leaving. The teacher looked at me and said "You have arrived just in time for our math test. You have an hour to answer 100 questions." She administered the test to us and we all got to work. As I looked at it, a mini game appeared. The test was just a series of single digit operations that flashed before me. I finished in half the time and was the first to be done. The teacher approached and asked if something was wrong. I submitted the test to her. She took it with a raised eyebrow. She went to the front of the room and ran it through a machine. It took a minute to be read.

She looked at it with pleasant surprise. The teacher then handed it back to me. I got a 94% on the test. Since that was a full A on the test, I smiled and looked out of the window next to me. Some of the other classes were in the yard doing a training routine. Others were running laps. When class ended, it was time for lunch. Lots of students crowded around me. They congratulated me on my high score and asked to know more about me. As I asked around, I saw that this was an Alpha centric class and that Switches were not looked at highly. All except three of the students in the class were Alphas. Aside from me, there were two other Switches. One of them was named Alphonse, a blue haired boy with green eyes. The other was Quinton, a Loko that had his head down. Most of the students left me in a mix of disappointment and disgust. Switches were just like Omegas to them. They began intimidating Alphonse into buying their lunch for them. I read enough manga and Webcomics to see what was going on. I got up and went with him.
