Broderick said "Wearing a nun's habit doesn't suit a man. They were only trying to mess with us for staying with you, Fionna. Just because I do not have magic does not mean I can't hold my weight. I am so glad I was able to do something for myself". I looked at him knowingly and he looked away from me. Fionna did not notice the interaction and said "I never saw you as a burden. I always though that it was nice living together, praying in the chapel and eating meals". Broderick shrugged his shoulders and said "Sorry. I'm the eldest son and a man. Relying on you doesn't make me feel good". Fionna faltered and looked sad. He held her hand and said "Now that we are on an equal footing, we can do lots of stuff together. We can both hold our heads up high". She smiled in agreement and said "We can do lots of things now that you are an inquisitor and an independent man. You can form a party with me and go on missions for the church". Broderick's eyes widened. He must not have thought about it. "What about Simon and Sophia?" he asked.

Simon said "We can look around for a position to the church. Or, we can go and get a secular job and party with you that way". "You two are 13 years old. No one's going to take you on for at least a few years. We are going to have to wait until then. Don't worry, though. I'll train you to be inquisitors like me!" Broderick said to them as he pat their heads. They pretended to dislike it, but they made no moves to move his hands away. I could not hold myself back from saying "If you start now, they might be able to do the initiation right on their first try when they come of age". Broderick glared while the others looked confused. Fionna clapped her hands together. "Let's go to our home and finish our meal. I don't want it to get cold. Broderick already has a heavy burden to bear. We can't make it any harder" she said. The Grinlack family were leaving when Fionna turned back to me and the cleric. "If you two want to come with us, you can" she said smiling warmly. I wanted to talk to them anyway so I agreed immediately. The cleric pushed herself ahead of me. I just let her.

When we got to their home their was already food on the table. The pot with the stew was on the fire. I waited to be served by Sophia and Fionna gave the cleric a bowl of stew. We ate quietly and the meal was really tasty. As the meal was finished, I spoke up and said "Thank you for the meal. I am grateful I was able to meet you". They nodded and Fionna and Broderick both smiled at him. "Since we are here, I was hoping that I could learn more about your religion. I'm new to the city and I wanted to know about the religion. The Church of the Moon seems to be something I want to join" I said. Fionna smiled and said "Of course. But I need to make you understand the laws against apostasy." "Once you join the Church, you will not be allowed to leave the Church or join any other. If you do, you will be mercilessly and viciously hunted down by our inquisitors like Broderick. I would hate to see it. You are a close friend of my family and I'd rather have you as an ally outside of the Church than an enemy I would need to put down" she continued with a serious look on her face.
