"Hello, Tiffany," Nadine said, smiling, now remembering that she and Tiffany were good friends. It was odd though. For some reason, she had this nagging feeling that something about Tiffany was wrong, or off. Was she always dressed so conservatively?
"Hello, Nadine," Tiffany said. "It's good to see you again. But why are you here? Shouldn't you be in school right now?"
"Yes," she said, part of her a bit annoyed about being lectured by Tiffany. After all they were friends, Tiffany wasn't her mother or anything. Of course, her mother had her nose stuck in a book lately, and Tiffany had been helping out around the house. "I came home to change. I guess I should get back there. I'm not sure what sins people might be up to while I'm away," she commented.
"I'll give you a lift," Tiffany said. She looked at Nadine's father. "Do you mind if I borrow the car, Roger?"
"No, of course not," he said.
She grabbed the keys to Laura's car off the hook next to the door and the two headed out.
Meanwhile, at Chesapeake Middle School, Lilly was finding herself bored with class. Everything seemed so...simple. Next to her, Mikey shifted under the desk, which felt rather tight and uncomfortable. He wasn't sure what he was going to do. There was still something going on here.
