Fighting the dire wolf was hard for me. It was way to fast and ferocious for me. Reiner and Elis were the ones who fought it off. I was only able to take small pot shots at the wolf with my javelins and glaive. When we depleted the first of the health bars, it howled in pain and summoned a pack of smaller wolves. I was able to handle the smaller wolves. Elis and Reiner were still focused on the dire wolf. We cleaned up the pack and we brought its health to red. It whimpered and tried to limp away as the two closed in on it. Elis and Reiner looked pleased with themselves. "We should share it. It's going to make us much stronger" Reiner said. Elis frowned and said "You are already strong. Let me take it in myself". Reiner sucked his teeth and reluctantly agreed. Elis let his tentacles extend and tightened around the wolf. It was too weak to fight them off. Elis dragged it closer until it was flush with his chest. The dire wolf was slowly absorbed inside him.

It was kind of gross as I watched Elis smile lewdly. It seemed to feel really good for him. He also leveled up to level 19. "Let's go before anything else shows up. I wanted something to absorb too" Reiner sighed. They climbed on my back again. Just as we were about to keep going a booming voice called out to us. "Stay where you are, you abominations!" it shouted. I stood still and looked around. The branches of the trees shook as if a strong breeze was running through them. All of a sudden a figure walked out of the tree. It looked like a green skinned woman. She looked at them with a look of disgust. "Get out of my forest. You two are unnatural creatures created from foul magic and not welcome here" she snapped. Then she looked me in the eye. "I don't care whether you are Yieldless or not, I don't tolerate pointless slaughter of creatures or tainted presences here" she said. I had an idea. I said "We want to pledge our allegiance to you. Let us become your knights".

Everyone looked at me as if I was insane. "I'm a squire. I might be weak now, but I can get stronger. Reiner and Elis might not have been born naturally, but they're not evil. The three of them were just scared and confused. All they need is a place to belong. If you gave us your blessings, we would make sure the forest was safe". She looked thoughtful for a moment. "I sense that you are earnest in your desire for my blessing. However, you are not a strong enough warrior to keep yourself safe, let alone the forest". It was true but it really hurt to hear it out loud. I guess it would not be possible to get around the path set to change classes. I was still too under leveled for being a knight. The dire wolf fight allowed me to level up again. I was only level 5. She looked at the chimeras and said "As for you two, I am well aware that monsters live and breed in this forest as well. I am not willing to lend you my power. If you are willing, I can offer you my protection".

That was the best out come. Elis looked at Reiner. "What should we do? We could hide here. We can morph into lots of forms that could fit in" he said. Reiner looked at her and said "It is better than being bound to a Master. It might even lead to us having magic like those paladins". They climbed off me and walked toward her. She told them to kneel and they complied. She gave them an oath to repeat and they did so. A popup appeared about their class change. It went from "n/a" to "knight". "Rise my knights and remember to protect all that live peacefully in the forest with your lives". They nodded as a breeze blew and leaves swirled in front of them. The leaves formed a heavy shirt and a kilt. They were enchanted and there were also two wooden round shields and swords with shining sliver blades. They raised their heads to thank her, but she was already gone. Reiner looked at me in pure confusion. "What do we do now?" he asked.
