I shook my head. "I don't care about this city. I tried to get in today and I was almost raped. If they want to kill you for no reason, fuck them. Let's find your friends already" I told him. He looked thoughtful before nodding. When we heard a bird call he looked up to the trees. "It's safe. This Master is with me. Come down" he said as held out his arm. A canary fluttered down on his outstretched fingers and began to tweet. The chimera looked down protectively at it. "I said he's safe. He couldn't hurt you if he wanted. Morph back so we can talk already". While the first was a black haired, red eyed teenage boy, the bird shifted into a white haired, pink eyed boy. He looked a bit younger. "This Master helped me get away. They're sending parties of Masters after me. They said I turned into an improvised boss. We have to get together and leave this area" the first chimera said, still upset. The second one nodded his head and said "We'll be hunted down if we don't".
Sighing, I said "I want to know what to call you. Do you three have names or not?". They looked upset at him. "Don't make fun of us! Like we'd want a Master naming us like pets" the first one said. The second one said "Don't we need names if we want to blend in and get away? We don't have to keep them". I nodded and waited for the first one to agree. He pouted as he turned away from me. "Do whatever you want then. Masters do that type of thing anyway" I sighed and thought hard as I looked at them. I knew I'd need to come up with good names for them. Since all of the humans he met had medieval names, he decided to give them similar names. "For you with the black hair, I'll call you Reiner. I'll call you Elis. Is that alright for you two?" They looked at each other in shock before looking at me. "What did you just say?" Reiner demanded. I said "Do you like the names I gave you? If it doesn't feel right I can try again".
Elis looked at Reiner pleased and said "I thought this was a Master, R-Reiner. No one's ever done this for us before. What do we do!?" Reiner looked totally confused on what to do. "What do you want from us!? Money? Sex? Tell us already or we're going to absorb you right now". Fleshy tentacles sprouted from his back and stomach and began to wrap themselves around me. I shuddered and said "I don't want anything from you two. I guess want to help you find your friend so I can go home". He glared at me and Elis was the one to tell him to let me go. "You want to be a Master's pet! We don't need him! I'm strong enough to protect both of you". Elis rubbed his hands over Reiner's tentacles. Reiner squeezed harder briefly before he sighed. "Fine! I'm still the strongest here. You better not betray us, dumbass Master!" he snapped as his tentacles withdrew. I sighed in relief. Reiner looked up at the trees and asked Elis where the third chimera was.
He looked nervous. "They said they were bored. They're stronger than me, so we thought it was okay. They don't listen to me anyway". Elis was level 16. Reiner looked angry at him. "I told you both to wait here! Masters are looking all over for us!" he yelled. Elis flinched and said "They can't be too far away. They only left a few minutes ago". With both Reiner and Elis now in my party, we walked around deeper in the forest. We fought off the monsters that spawned as we looked for the third chimera. It was not too hard. I had weapons and did my best. The others also fought and with claws and fangs. They also had scorpion tails. As time went on, I had leveled up twice and I was feeling pretty confident. All of a sudden, a dire wolf leapt out and growled out us. A popup appeared denoting it as a sub-boss. It had two large health bars. "It must not like us being so deep. Let's kill it and get out of here" I said.
