START IN: Epic City

I was surprised as my body finished morphing. The mirror stretched and flexed so I could see my whole body. It was strange. It felt like I had always had the body. Taking a few steps was exciting as it was as if all four legs knew how to walk even if I was unsure. I would not have chosen something like this normally, but I did not hate it. I looked around and saw a door. I walked to it and put my hand on the knob. A popup appeared in front of me saying "You are leaving the character creation room. You will not be allowed to return. Are you sure you wish to leave?". I knew that lots of time had already passed. I wanted to hurry up and find Suzie. I turned the knob and opened the door. It was a bright white light I couldn't see through. I guessed I was supposed to walk through it to get to the game. I did and continued on for what felt like 10 long seconds. My eyes blinked and I was suddenly in front of a large walled city.

I was in a small line with two guards looking over a couple's cart. They were both Lizard people and they did not look comfortable. Eventually the guards let them go and turned to the next person in line. The next three were all humans who were allowed in with a quick glance at their papers. The one in front of me was a dwarf warrior. He had a big beard and a bigger battleaxe. The two guards scoffed as they interrogated him. I wasn't stupid, but it caught me off guard to see what was happening. 'This world even has racism?' I wondered. I waited for 5 minutes until it was my turn. "Come on, Stripes!" one of them called with a smirk. The other laughed and said "We do not have all day". I approached cautiously and stopped in front of them. "State your purpose" the guard on the right said. I told them that I was meeting someone. They rolled their eyes. "What are you planning to do with those weapons you have there?" the one on the left asked.

The question didn't phase me. "I'm a soldier. I want to form a party and level up, I guess?" I said. They narrowed their eyes in suspicion. I crossed my arms. "So? Do you have your papers or not!?" the left guard demanded. My eyes widened slightly. I didn't think I had it. A popup appeared to talk about the inventory. I opened mine up, but I did not have it. I chuckled nervously and raised my hand placatingly. "I guess I forgot it? I'm sorry for wasting all this time" I said before slowly backing away. An annoyed sigh came from the left guard and he made a shooing motion. The right guard, however got a sharp glint in his eye. "Well, I think I need to interrogate this one further. It might have been an honest mistake. Or... it could be that we have a spy here" he said to his colleague. The guard raised his palm to his face and said "Just make it quick, Bardolf". Bardolf smirked and said "I always cover for you Ancelin. Let me have this". I knew things were not going well.
