Karyn watched giggling from the comfort of her room. She had wished the events to be screen on her television and was happily sat on her bed in her pyjamas and wrapped up in her duvet. "I wish Jon would fight the changes a bit harder" she said holding the stone.
"Now Libby was a flyer so I need you to repeat after me, I am a skinny, light, four foot ten inches tall athletic woman" Sarah said, her tone soft yet demanding.
Jasmine stared at herself, "But I'm Jon, my grandfather never fought in the war, he was an archeologist digging up all manner of antiquities"
Again her image flickered, her skin looked tanned, then brown, then black, her features ever shifting, she no longer looked anything like Jon.
"a little hep" Sarah asked her coven, who stopped staring and retook their seats and started chanting.
"Jon, you like that brain of your don't you? You help others with their homework because you enjoy being the smartest kid in class... You can keep that if you do-operate, you don't want to end up a big breasted bimbo do you?" Sarah demanded.
Jon shook her head, "No, I am Jasmine a skinny, light, four foot ten inches tall athletic woman" she said as the chanting continued.
Karyn was reminded of her own boobs laying uncomfortably on her lap, she had an idea. "I wish tonight was the last night of spring break and that tomorrow Jasmine would wish for long blond hair and big boobs like Sarah's".
Amazingly the stone flashed and Karyn rushed to the mirror, she could feel her breasts had returned to their smaller more comfortable size, but she wanted to see it. The mirror didn't look strange, she was the same redhead she had been and had grown up with. It had worked, she jumped back into the warmth of her duvet and continued watching.
Jasmine was now a beautiful short and very skinny black girl, stood mesmerised in front of the mirror. "You are now Jasmine, the female version of yourself if your great-grandfather had fell in love with a local woman in South Africa during the First World War. He settled there and your grandfather no longer married your grandmother, but a black woman, their son also married a black woman so your parents are completely different to the ones you had before. They did however want a better life for you and shipped you to America to learn English, you are now living with your great-grandfathers sisters granddaughter and her family. Now say that back to me."
Jasmine repeated her life history to Sarah, then again and again. Each time her accent changed, becoming more South African, her English became strained. Finally...
"I Jasmine, from Deban. Me Mom from Deban. me Dad from Deban. Me Mom and Dad married. Me here learn English. Me live with Aunt Alice." Jon finished as the chanting stopped, her dark eyes opened wide as her mouth fell agape "What you do, this not right"
"it's too late now Jasmine, your finished, you will be a fantastic flyer while your in OUR country" Sarah giggled, it wasn't like men to fight so much and she had never seen such dramatic changes before. She Made a mock sad face pounting "I forgot to say, Jasmine never went to school in Africa her parents were too poor, so you have never learnt much at all... Your about as clever as an eight year old." She patted Jasmines shoulders.
Jasmine stared at her "cleva? What is that?" She struggled, finding it hard to understand Sarah or find the meaning of words.
Karyn realised she had gone to far, I wish Sarah would undo her spell" she said, but the stone wasn't in her hand anymore, instead she held the TV remote, she looked back at the screen to see an episode of friends. "what the heck?"
