"Ok, one more ladies!"
"Do we have time?" Brianna asked, worry rising in her voice.
"There's still an hour to go sweetie," her mother reassured from behind the photographer, "Still plenty of time for pictures."
Brianna sighed, then raised her glass of champagne, smiling at the camera. Four other glasses came in and they all clinked together. Her bridesmaids leaned in close, arms around one another, and the camera clicked away.
"Great! Gorgeous, ladies!" the photographer said. "That's enough for now, I'll be back when you're all dressed."
"Ok girls, time for the dresses!" Cindy squealed as they made their way off the bed.
"Careful, don't spill!" Brianna reminded everyone. The bedroom was beautifully ornate - nobody ever slept here, it was just used for occasions like this.
Ashleigh took a gulp from her glass
"And easy on the champagne! I can't have any of you falling over drunk before the end of the ceremony!"
Biranna was understandably tense. It was her wedding day, and she needed everything to go perfectly! Of course her bridesmaids (her sister and three best friends) totally understood. She was the first in their group to get married, and they'd do anything to make sure she had a perfect fairytale day.
"You got it, Bri," her sister Chloe said. They all put their glasses down and gathered around the bride, each one in a matching pink satin robe.
Brianna walked towards the large upright mirror, where her mother was holding a large garment bag. She untied the sash of her lacy white robe, then slipped it off and handed it to Tina who handed her a pair of sheer white stockings. She sat at the nearby dressing table and slid them up her legs, fastening them to the garter belt she was already wearing, completing her special lingerie. Her mother started to unzip the garment bag when out of nowhere Brianna felt a sharp sting next to her collarbone. She quickly and instinctively swatted at it.
"Ow! What was that?!" she said frantically, "Ohmigawd what was that?!"
Her mother handed off the garment back and rushed over. "What, honey, what happened?"
"I think... I think something bit me!" she sounded almost on the verge of tears. "Ohhh I can't have a big ugly mosquito bite on my wedding day!!"
Janice took a look at where her daughter swatted. "There there, honey - I don't even see a welt. We'll put some lotion on it to make sure. Does it itch?"
"No... actually it feels fine," she said, regaining her composure. "So weird. Can we close the windows to keep the damn bugs out of here??"
"Of course, sweetie, now let's get you into that dress!"
