The tiny super-mosquito floated effortlessly through the air vents, mindlessly in search of its first meal. That last one just wasn't very appetizing. Plus its instincts were driving it to feed on as many hosts as possible. It would prefer to find a place where lots of people were gathered together. Luckily, at that moment the ventilation fans kicked in, driving the mosquito forward through the vents. Around a couple of bends and suddenly there was a bright light coming from the other side of another grate. The forced air gust gave way a gentle breeze as the little insect found itself in the sunlight for the first time, and outside in the wider world.
It flew for a while, carried by the wind. Past offices, homes, restaurants. It briefly landed on a car's antenna and was carried a few miles before taking off again. Finally, by sheer luck, it found an absolute smorgasbord of people. A huge building, with a pointy spire at one end and adorned with colorful windows. If the mosquito knew words, it would call it a church. Cars were beginning to line up outside, and people were gathering to chat before heading inside.
It was already a sizable crowd, but it would be growing even bigger over the next hour or so. Everyone was dressed in their finest, ready for what looked to be a big celebration. Spirits were high and anticipation was growing, because today everyone would be celebrating the wedding of Jeff Wilkins and Brianna Jones.
The mosquito began to descend, and its hunger grew.
