Sarah woke up in her room after a troubled sleep. Memories came upon her like a river as a wave of panic ran across her body. She quickly tried to feel for any changes.“That.. tail?” Immediately she felt for what she had yesterday. The memory of it- a wolf tail! She ran her hand across her lower back and felt.. nothing unusual…

Nothing to suggest anything was amiss at all. “It- It’s gone?” How? Was she just dreaming it? She was sure.. but… it was gone- as if it was never there.

She heaved a sigh of relief, still remembering the odd weight of it in her memory. For a while she was sure she had some extra appendage- maybe she had just imagined it? Yes- that had to be it. Clearly the issue with Biff was just stressing her out. She slid out of the bed stretching a little with a quick glance to the mirror- nothing unusual there either. Slightly curly blonde hair … a very pretty girl with a slim body.. yes everything was fine much to her relief.

Seeing Biff again was so.. difficult. Why did she just come here like that? To her own house… her friends said she seemed to be hanging out with Jon and that seemed a good thing to her. Though it felt… now that she thought about it… maybe it was a little shallow. “I shouldn’t avoid him- er- her.” What could she do though? If it had been one of her normal friends in this situation she would have tried to help them out but… this was Biff. A guy she had a thing for and just… she didn’t know what to do! She wanted to help but that past would only make things more difficult. There was no way she could strike a conversation with this sphinx-woman without bringing up the things they shared and could never have any more! They could still be friends though?

Quietly she made her way to shower slipping off her evening wear. She hummed quietly to herself as she did make a subtle cautious look of her body to make sure there were no other.. odd things going on. Still normal.. everything was fine.

“I’ll talk to Biff later,” She promised to herself. She had to make this right somehow.

Mikey was rather looking forward to the new day. She was looking around for her new friend.. the strange rabbit-girl they had met. Alice seemed nice to her and perhaps it was because she didn’t know who the harpy was before… well.. the strange changes. Soon enough she saw her simply bounce out from one of the bushes near the school.

The harpy girl waved a wing to the rabbit-girl. “Hi!” She called out happily.

Alice smiled as she quickly ran to her new friend. “Hi Mikey!” She giggled. “Was everything okay with your parents?”

“Uh huh...” The harpy girl looked sheepishly. “They were really worried. We were gone for ages.”

“I know.” She bit her lower lip. “I’m grounded for a week. I admitted it was kinda my fault.”

“It wasn’t though!” Mikey sighed. “It’s not like you knew what would happen. We just wanted to see how far you could appear. Who would have thought it would take us to some other world?”

Alice giggled a bit at that. “We’re like astronauts. We saw something nobody else had. The trouble is nobody is gonna believe us..”

The two animal girls walked towards the school. Things seemed to be normal.. well… that was until they saw Andrew. “..what the..” Alice and Mikey quickly walked towards the young boy with some quiet confusion.

“… please don’t say anything,” Andrew frowned folding his arms.

“Uh...” Alice and Mikey looked to each other awkwardly.

Mikey wondered if she should but- maybe she shouldn’t? It was Alice in the end who had to ask it. “Why are you wearing a dress?”

Andrew was wearing a rather pretty green dress. It flowed down to his legs. He also had lightly coloured blouse and his jacket appeared to be of the more feminine range. He seemed to be just wearing a pair of stockings and slippers.

“Hello girls,” a voice suddenly interrupted them. The principal gave each a smile. “Ah, Anne I hope you’re doing well?”

Andrew looked blankly but nodded. “I guess?” He glanced to the changed then back to the principal. “You don’t see anything wrong about me.. do you?”

“No, nothing at all. You seem like a normal snake-girl to me.. if you need anything please do just ask. Well good luck in your class!” With that he walked on by.

“… what the heck is going on?” Mikey asked.

Andrew looked quite mortified. “Wait- you can see me? The real me?!” He suddenly felt a wave of relief but an equal amount of fear. “Oh crap- this is worse! If changed people see me as me-” He suddenly looked around wildly mortified.

“Calm down!” Alice put a hand on his shoulders. “Just tell us what’s going on?”

Andrew nodded. “Okay- well- I went home but everyone is treating me like I’m a snake girl!” he gestured down to his clothes. “I don’t have any normal clothes. I don’t even have shoes! I had to borrow some slippers but for some reason people still think I’m just crawling like a snake when I walk-” He frowned a little. “The worst part is my mother keeps insisting I need to start wearing a bra but-” He groaned. “I have no idea why it’s happening. It’s like I’m still a snake girl but I’m not.”

The bell went off.. class was about to start…

The harpy girl frowned not at all sure what to make of it. “Well.. you’ll have to come to our class if you’re a changed- even if you’re not.”

Andrew sighed but nodded. “Yeah- okay I just hope this isn’t going to get weirder. My homework is from your class- it’s like I’ve always been there.” Annoyed he hefted his backpack and walked towards the class.

Mikey glanced down and saw Andrew’s shadow. “Huh..?” it seemed to trail past his body, going.. yeah that wasn’t normal. Looking to the side the shadow it seemed to be that of a snake girl! Is that what humans saw when they looked at Andrew?

Miss Stella looked at the register. Well- rather she was ‘standing’ on the large ledger as she examined each line by walking across it. It was a situation when records had to be ‘normal’ sized while being a fairy she had to work with bigger books. Something here wasn’t right.. there was a new student now? She looked at the line wondering how that had happened. Well.. that’s certainly not the first time she had missed it. “Anne Greenwood?” She hummed. Though when she waited to see who it was she was.. surprised to see a human come into the classroom- a boy wearing.. girl clothes?

Someone crossdressing?

She wished she had been warned ahead but… for the most part she was pretty sure it wouldn’t be a problem. “Hi there!” She said as she floated to the new student. Was he in the wrong place? “Uh.. you know this is just for the changed right?” Did he ‘want’ to be one of the changed? Maybe that’s why he was cross-dressing.

Andrew had never seen a fairy before. The truth was this area of school was always a little.. weird… and it seemed he had joined among them as ‘weird’ even to them! Though it was a little easier to see someone smaller rather then larger… given the experiences in that other world. “I’m not a changed but everyone else see’s me as one.. except other changed.” He tried to explain. “I know… you probably don’t believe me.”

“… oh. That’s very complicated,” Stella mused. “I believe you though. Well take a seat.. maybe we can sort something out later.”

The rather out of place human-looking boy took a chair next to the other changed who looked at him with some bewilderment. Whispers of ‘what is he doing here?’ ‘is he really a changed?’ echoed before Stella made the class quiet.

Alice and Mikey glanced back to Andrew… not quite sure how to help him. It seemed Andrew was a changed to humans… but not to other changed. Out of curiosity Alice took out a small mirror… and looked at Andrew’s reflection.

“Oh.. wow...” she gestured to Mikey. “Look- she really is a snake girl in the mirror...”

Biff had the most humiliating morning possible- well- since her initial transformation anyway.… She had to admit a lot of it was her own fault but.. still… it wouldn’t have happened if her body had not turned into this… ‘thing’.

The sphinx had first gone to the doctors but they said it was best to talk to an expert about dosage for flea treatment on her unique body- sounded reasonable sure… until she had to go to a freakin’ vet! She had gone to a pet-store which had experience with cats.. and even there they had to talk to a zoo to get an idea of how much she needed.

“Too little wouldn’t do anything… too much will hurt you,” The vet had explained. “Don’t worry it’s quite safe.” The tone was assuring.. perhaps even babying her- she loathed it. They had given her in injection and soon enough she began to feel a bit groggy. Miss Collins told her to skip school but Biff insisted she would be fine.

It had all gone pretty normal after that point… she was back to school and… people ignored her. That was normal too. She walked the hallways as casually as she could...

Then Biff found something on the knob of her locker. Someone… someone had decided to hang a flea-collar there. A flea collar!? She stared at it.. burning with absolute rage as her wings spread outward like she was going on an attack. “Who did this!” She demanded.

All the students quickly ran away at her roaring shout- not wanting to get anywhere near an angry sphinx. Biff stared at the suddenly empty hall way and the flea-collar… the rage… ebbed away and she tried to fight the well of tears in her eyes. She rubbed her eyes even as they started to glow gently…

Strange.. blue ghostly images appeared- almost like a blurry photo. She began to focus… She saw someone glancing around- then placing the collar on her locker… how was this even happening? The image started to get clearer as she began to focus on it...

… “James?” She could see him now- and as she said his name the image vanished… “James...” She repeated. “James.. James...” The rage burned higher.. she knew who it was. James was dead! So very dead! Her claws sprang outward as she tried to find him.

James quietly regarded Sarah… she seemed distressed.

The cheerleader was at the gym floor… setting up for practice. He admired the way her body moved even in the most casual of poses. She was hot.. Was this now a good time to make his move?

He guessed she was still mourning after Biff. There were stages to this though right? How long did he have to wait… eventually Sarah would see that he was the best person to go for after Biff- if she still wanted a little bit of high status from a future footballer. With Biff out of the picture James was technically now the star quarterback… and Sarah would be cheering for him. Practically everyone thought it was just going to happen…

why didn’t Sarah?

He just had to make sure she understood there were no other options now. It wasn’t as if any of the others were as capable. “Hey...” he said.

Sarah blinked her voice a little icey. “...yes?”

“Look-” James began. “First off… I am genuinely sorry about what happened to Biff… but we should move on.”

“You’re talking about him like he’s dead.” Sarah said agitated. She already had one weird morning… and it seemed like every so often she was checking to make sure she didn’t have a tail or something.

“You know what I mean,” the Jock said simply. “The thing is I… do like you and I know you like me.”

“I did once,” Sarah grumbled.

“Yeah.. when I was the star. Then Biff became the best and you dumped me for him.”

“It wasn’t as if we were that into it in the first place!” Sarah gasped. “I mean-”

“Yeah whatever. You’re no angel Sarah, but that’s fine. I’m no saint either. We both do what we have to do… and I understood your attraction to Biff. However.. he’s gone now, and I’m still here. The way I see it, this is fate. This is what is meant to be-”

James decided this was it.. he had to take a chance.. just kiss her! He leaned over… inching closer…

Sarah blinked- something didn’t feel right. It felt like her nose was pushing outward suddenly and-

‘bop’

James felt something wet on his lips.. not quite like a tongue but more like someone had just put a dog in front of him. He stared as he saw Sarah’s face and screamed. “AH! What the hell! You’re- you’re some kind of werewolf!”

Sarah gasped as she felt the strange new face. She groaned as more fur began to sprout around her body. Her smooth flawless skin now becoming flurry with odd white and dark grey markings. She still had her blond hair- “Heeelp-” She cried out as the changes continued.

She stumbled forwards as he feet began to change becoming more digigrade with raised ankles, her shoes ripping.. “James?” she called out as she felt her tongue extend into her new muzzle. The change wasn’t painful but.. very uncomfortable especially as the tail started to strain against her jeans! “James!”

… he was gone.

James stared at her and ran away. Crap! She’s now infect? She’s a freak! He wanted nothing to do with her! Crap he had to take a shower or something. He ran as quickly as he could going up the stairs not even thinking-

“YOU!” A roaring voice yelled.

James gasped as he saw Biff. “Shit- Biff- you scared the crap out of me. Listen Sarah-”

“You put that flea-collar on my locker!” She growled menacingly with her claws out.

James felt like his life was coming apart. How? How did Biff even know it was him? “No! It wasn’t me. I mean- who would do that?”

“You did more then that. You’ve been screwing with me! You put those flea’s on me too didn’t you!” Biff crawled on her four legs as James backed himself up against the wall. The sphinx spread out her wings to their maximum… the human squirmed as he was cornered.

“It wasn’t my idea! It was Elliot- I don’t even care now! I only did it to get close to Sarah but you can have her! She’s a freak now too!”

There were few things that could stop Biff from giving James a severe beating. However hearing Sarah… suddenly her wings colapsed inward. “Where is she..”

“The- ground floor Gym. She was setting up for practice- Can I go!”

“… fine you can go.”
