Jon wanted this day from Hell to be over, but it wasn't even lunchtime. At least he didn't have any classes with his dad, or Ashley, as everybody seemed to be calling him. He genuinely couldn't tell if people were just playing along or if everyone really did think his father was suddenly Sarah McMillan's identical twin sister (and apparently his new girlfriend). Ashley had been hanging off his arm all the way from the parking lot into the school, cheerfully greeting people (mostly girls) he seemed to know as if they'd been BFFs for years. He scanned the crowd for Karyn, hoping she could help bail him out of this mess, but didn't see her anywhere. It wasn't like her to miss school without letting him know.
Jon felt relieved when Ashley had finally let go of his hand in the hallway and left him with just a quick peck on the cheek. As horribly awkward as that was, it could've been much worse. He listened to his dad's heels clicking into the distance, amazed at just how much his body language matched Sarah's by his side. At least now he could get to class and not be bothered for a while. Hopefully the technicians from The Agency, whatever that was, would get here before he had to face 'Ashley' again.

Jon pulled his phone from his pocket as he made his way to his first class. It was a text message.

Jon sighed. It was going to be a long morning. Maybe he could find time to sneak off to the computer lab to find out more about this "nanite storm" his mother was talking about. He had to do something to try and get his dad back to normal.
