Jon did a double take and looked at the sheet he'd grabbed. There was no 'normal form' sketch, but the 'alter ego' design Karyn had drawn was titled "Super Cat-Girl." Drawn on the sheet was an extremely cute teenage girl in a white T-shirt and a pair of cutoffs. She had short red hair, calico-furred cat ears and a tail, as well as retractable claws in place of fingernails.
Karyn hesitated before explaining. "This character doesn't real have any 'powers,'" she noted, "just the abilities of an average cat. Which is to say, you're fast and a terribly good acrobat and jumper. To switch to 'alter ego' form, you have to say 'Super Cat-Girl GO!' really loud. To switch back, say 'Cat-Girl Return.' You'll also switch in the presence of anything that would pique the interest of a normal cat."
Jon stared at the girl on the paper for a long moment before responding...
