The class slowly came to an end and Lonna gathered Lauren’s text book and her new homework. “I’ll do this after I watch teen mom.” Lonna thought to herself then stopping as she got out of the desk. “Teen mom....I’ve never seen an episode in my life.” Wondering where that thought came from. Nervously getting ready for the walk to her next class she went into the hall.
A cool breeze ran a chill down her spine as she entered. Most students passed by her like they didn’t notice. Then she saw a girl pass that she recognized that waved and walked past. No name calling or dirty looks. “Lauren’s life comes with they way people once treated her.” Lonna smiled as she felt confidence fill her.
Turning the corner she heard “Lonna! Wait up!”
Spinning around she saw Jake walking to her. Smiling he stated “Hey babe how was your morning?”
Hundreds of things filled Lonna’s mind. “Babe?!? Wait what’s happening? Omg he was Lauren’s boyfriend...now MY boyfriend...like noooo way.”
“Is everything ok?” He asked as Lonna looked stunned
Shacking out of it she answered “uh like ya ummm babe..” awkwardly replying back
“I’ll see you after football practice?” He asked
Not knowing what to say she just nodded.
Leaning in for a kiss Lonna closed her eyes and her lips met his. Oddly it felt normal to her and like she had done it for awhile.
As she watched him walk away she thought “man oh man Ms Rodriguez isn’t going to be happy about this. I have time to stop by her class.” She turned and walked to her old class room wondering how her teacher would react to her “stealing” her boyfriend.
