Lauren had sat during her first class of the day thinking that she was going to have such a easy day of it. Getting to be the one who asked all the questions instead of the one who had to answer them.
Now on her third class of the morning and the last one before lunch those thoughts were gone. She had spent most of her last class trying to keep Sam Jones under control. He had spent most of the lesson shouting out silly answer to the questions she asked.
She had asked him “What's the coolest element on the periodic table? Sam had answered her with. “A ice cream sundae. If you can get to it before it melts.” Lauren sat watching her latest group of students quietly work on the problem she had set them. She realized that Sam had been doing exactly what she would have been doing in Ms Tran’s class.
I will have to have a word with that boys’ parents at the next parents evening. She thought to herself. Almost as soon as the thought had entered her mind. She wondered where it had come from. The next parents evening was a few days away. It was something she had always dreaded as a student. Surely, she would not still be teaching classes by then. Lonna would have come up with an answer by then. Wouldn’t she?
