"Well," Karyn said, "I don't know about you, but I'm terribly curious what life is like in a world with pixies and harpies. What say we go to the mall?"
"Go out?" Jon sputtered. "Like this? Are you crazy!?"
Karyn smirked. "You don't really plan on spending the whole week cooped up inside, do you?"
Jon nodded, and Karyn laughed. "Well, that's not an option," she said. "Remember, you're going to have to go to school anyway, so you may as well get used to being like this in public right now. Besides, it'll be fun!"
Jon groaned. "We'll see about that," she said. "But okay."
Karyn grinned, and they headed downstairs. At the top of the stairs, Jon paused; there was the family portrait, looking much the same as it always had, with a few key differences. Obviously, Jon was now a girl in the picture, but there was also the fact that all the family members except her Dad were harpies, and the fact that all the harpies were naked. "Wow," Jon said, "I guess they really don't mind nudity now, do they?"
"Guess not," Karyn said. "After all, they can't really expect you to put a shirt on without any hands or normal arms."
Jon nodded, and the two headed downstairs. Jon's mother was in the kitchen, just as naked as in the picture. "Hey, Mom," Jon said, "Karyn and I are going down to the mall for a while."
"Well, have fun, dear," she said. "Just be hom by six, okay? I'm making beef stew." She gestured to a large pot roast thawing on the counter, which was now only about knee-high. "Karyn," she continued, "you're welcome to stay for dinner if you want."
"Thanks!" Karyn smiled. "I just mightdo that."
With that, and seeing as Jon's mother made no objection to her toplessness, they headed off to the mall.
