Jon nodded, grabbed the stone in one claw, and walked out of the room, treading gingerly every other step to avoid smashing the stone into her foot. Karyn watched her go, then sat down to wait. It was several minutes before Jon returned.
"Well?" Karyn flitted off the bed and over to her friend. Nothing seemed out of place; she was still wearing the same clothes as before, a skirt and backless halter top that fit conveniently around the roots of her wings. She was lucky that her delicate, dragonfly-like wings, each with their own separate connection to her back, were so easy to work around, or she'd have to do without a top, like Jon; and with the sizable breasts that stupid accidental wish had given her, that'd be awfully inconvenient.
Now, on the other hand, at least Jon was larger than four inches tall. Karyn could barely handle even small everyday objects like utensils or computer mice. Her parents and teachers did their best to make things easy for her, but it still irked her some days that everybody else was around sixteen times her size.
As a matter of fact, she was feeling a little irked right now, but less because of her size issues and more because of the smirk on Jon's delicate, feminine face. "What?" she asked, wings humming as she hovered in front of her newly-transformed friend. "Did you decide on something yet?"
Jon smiled. "You really don't remember, do you?" she asked.
Karyn shook her head. "No. Did you change something? Everything seems normal..."
Jon chuckled. "I wish," she said, "that Karyn's mind was back to the way it was before my last wish."
Karyn's eyes went wide as memories of her normal human life flooded back to her. "Oh, wow." she said. "Well, I guess turnabout is fair play...but why this, may I ask?"
Jon grinned. "I wanted to give you some kind of mythical disability, too," she said. "Mermaid was closer to what I wanted, but it would've left you confined to a pool, and even if that weren't pushing things too far, I have a feeling I'm going to need you around if I'm going to be a girl for a week."
