Biff started toward his next class. No one seemed to notice what was going on with him,and he couldn't hide in the bathroom all day.
Outside of his next class, Erika Weber approached him. The two didn't know each other that well, even though they were in the same social circles. "Hey," she said. "Are you ready to get to work?" She asked.
"What?" Biff said.
"The assignment. We're doing it together, right?"
"Ummm..." He frowned. "Do I look any different to you today?"
She looked at him, seriously. "I think we need to go shopping. I mean, that top...what were you thinking?"
"Have you seen Sarah?" He asked.
"Sarah?" Erika said. "Which one?"
Clearly, if something wasn't wrong, she wouldn't have even bothered to ask that.
Biff wasn't the only one making new friends. When Jon arrived at his class, he slipped into a seat next to Zelda Whitefield, the school's only cybergoth. It didn't occur to him that Zelda was Zoe's friend, or that she was two years younger, or that they certainly didn't have any classes together.
They began chatting about a hot new video game, getting into an excited debate and didn't even notice that the class never started. After nearly the whole period, Jon absent-mindedly reached for his comb. His hair had been so uncooperative today. His hand came out of his bag with a brush, and so he used that.
Then he came to thinking. Hadn't it been a comb earlier? Deciding he'd found another change, he made an excuse to Zelda and hurried off to find Karyn, not noticing anything else was amiss, save the brush.
