As Jimmy walked onto the stage to have his blocking checked, Athena had opened the utility door backstage and made her way out to the parking lot, where the Blood Mobile was setting up. She walked past the nurses and the two examining tables where donors were going to be sitting, and entered the small washroom behind the driver's seat. She opened a drawer and pulled on a spare uniform, which didn't need to stretch or shrink all that much to fit her. She stepped out and joined the other nurse, Tanya, as Molly Hansom walked blankly towards the school offices.
"Why do we do these at high schools, Athena?" Tanya asked, "Most of the kids aren't legal age to donate."
"Yeah, but we always get a high teacher turnout, and a school is one of the few places where we can actually offer any incentives. We can't offer money, but the school gives a free period to any seniors who donate," Athena Hansom answered. Athena had been a nurse for about two years, or at least she thought she had, working as an assistant in Dr. Nakahashi's pediatrics office. However, at the doctor's insistence, she had just made the decision to try going for an MD. This made her far more experienced than Tanya, who was actually on her very first bloodmobile run.
"Is there anything else we have to do to set up?" Tanya asked.
"Yeah, there's a little more," Athena sighed, "but we've still got another hour before the first lunch period starts, and we shouldn't expect anyone until then."
As Athena looked out the door into the parking lot, she thought she saw the figure of another nurse walking into the school. But when she tried to focus her eyes, the image disappeared.
