Athena stood at the top of the stairs and looked down at her. She couldn't believe that her friend was truly lost. But the magic was just too strong. And until she found the one who had cast the original spell, she'd have to deal with it.
"Don't call the cops," Athena said.
"Tell me why you're here instead of in school and I won't call," Zelda said.
"I needed to get something from Jon's room," she said, thinking on her feet. "I had a free period, and Jon didn't..."
"What was it?"
"A textbook," Athena said. She hoped Zelda would buy it.

Melony Wilson grunted softly, standing up from her stooping position. She'd gotten a lot of work done today in her garden...a surprising amount. She'd felt so energetic at the beginning of the day, but now she was starting to feel fatigued.

Jon looked over at the cybergoth sitting across the lunch table. "Have you seen Athena?"

Sarah Leeson opened her locker and swapped some of the books in her bag for the ones for her next few classes. She looked over at Gladys McMillan, surrounded by her entourage and sighed.
Sarah looked at her clothes...a plain white button-up shirt, a knee-length skirt, and white socks. She didn't want to be like Gladys, pretty and popular, but sometimes she wished...
Gladys became aware that Sarah was looking at her. She shot back a look of disdain, the sort one might when an insect fly into their face. The look was gone by the time she spotted her boyfriend, Lydia. He looked so strong and sexy, she forgot all about...whoever had been bothering her.

Mikey cringed, as the vision showed him his mother...She'd gotten caught up in this?
He looked up at Mrs. Wilson, who didn't have a single grey hair. She was getting closer to Miss Warren's age every second. If anything, she was beginning to look even more pretty than Miss Warren did.

Kyla McMillan adjusted her bra. At the beginning of the shoot, it had felt a bit loose, but it must have just been her imagination.

Derek Brewer sat in the cafeteria, eating lunch...well, two lunches. But no one paid much attention to him.
Across the cafeteria, Zoe Tyne laughed at something her friend said. That feeling in the back of her mind from earlier asserted itself. It said this was all wrong. She banished it, thinking happy thoughts.

Jane Gibson was freshening up in the ladies room at work when suddenly her mind went blank. She walked out of the ladies room, leaving her bag sitting on the sink.
She walked out of the building and started down the street. She walked for miles, out of the commercial district and into a residential neighborhood, where she entered a house.
