At school, Athena couldn't shake that feeling something was going on that was just beyond her perception. She and Zoe hung out for a bit in their usual place behind the school before they entered the building.
In the halls, Athena spotted Biff fighting with...Zoe's mom? But she was dressed in a...cheerleading uniform?
"I tried to pick you up, Babe," Biff insisted.
"It's over, Biff," she said. "This is the last straw."
"What's your mom doing here?" Athena asked Zoe.
"What? Where?"
"There, talking to Biff Meadows," Athena said.
"Why the fuck are you seeing my mom everywhere?" Zoe asked. "The only people I see are Biff and those bitchy cheerleaders."
"Not your mom?"
"Umm...no. Athena, are you sure you're feeling all right?" Zoe asked her.
"I'm not sure," she said, watching what looked to her like Zoe's mom chatting with the cheerleaders.
