Why Is Hailee At Jon's?

Hailee was surprised by another knock at the door, this time a gentle one. “Hailee,” Karyn said sweetly. “I hope everything’s ok in there. You’ve been in there for a bit.”
Hailee blinked. “I’m fine. Just finishing up.”
“Well, I just wanted to let you know that Zoe’s here now so I’m heading out. Good luck on your project!”
Hailee stuffed the stone in her pocket and opened the door to the bathroom. “You’re leaving?”
“Yeah, Mrs. Merlin only pays me to watch her son until Zoe gets home,” Karyn said.
A brown-haired girl stuck her head in the room that used to be Jon’s. “Hey Karyn, Hailee! What are you guys doing in mom’s office?”
