Scott continued to watch himself change in amazement. Only when his jeans fell down around his ankles did he realise just how much he was shrinking. He watched as his hair became black and rather messy - a bit of a spikey mass on top of his head. His skin became smoother and his face changed to that of someone else - someone much younger.
"Oh my god! I'm changing into a kid!" His voice, too, was a shock - rather higher than he was used to.
Finally, the changes seemed to stop and 16 year old Scott was looking at a reflection of a child who couldn't be more than 11. He peered at the reflection in the gloom - it had got dark outside in the time he'd taken to change and he'd been too distracted to turn on any lights - the house was almost dark. "This is unreal!" he told his reflection. Carefully, he stepped out of his jeans and underwear which were pooled at his smaller feet - the teeshirt he wore now came down to his knees almost, and certainly was enough to keep him decent.
He stepped closer to the mirror to examine the unfamiliar face, still having an odd sensation of unreality.
Just then, there was a sound from downstairs - the disturbing sound of breaking glass! What was going on? Cursing, Scott quickly stashed the medallion in a safe place at the back of one of his drawers and crept out onto the landing to look down the stairs into the darkness.
For a moment there was silence... And then, another noise! More glass breaking and the clear sound of people moving around.
"Oh, shit!" whispered Scott.
