Scott looked over the contents of the bag dumped out on his bed and frowned. It was a pretty tatty selection of stuff. A lot of it was dirty and tattered - very old. He didn't recognise most of it, and wondered if it had just been left over in the attic from the previous owners of the house.
He reasoned that if he touched a piece of clothing from the bag to the medallion he would change into an entirely different person. It was a scary thought, but also quite exciting. Real magic! Incredible!
Scott sorted through the pile and found what looked like a faded red teeshirt. He shrugged - that would do as good as anything, he reckoned. He packed the rest of the clothes back in the bag, and then stood up, took a deep breath and touched the teeshirt to the medallion around his neck.
Instantly, he felt a tingle come from the medallion where it was touching his skin. The tingle spread and then faded for a few seconds. Was anything happening? The suddenly, he felt his skin start to crawl all over - it wasn't unpleasant as such, but was pretty disturbing, so much so that he dropped the teeshirt on the floor. Recovering his senses a little, he stumbled over to the full-length mirror on the back of his door to watch what was happening - he could clearly feel by now that something was happening - he was changing!
Scott watched in awe as his mousy brown hair slowly got darker. The features on his face were also shifting gradually - almost too slowly to notice. It took him a moment to realise that his shirt was starting to get baggy - he was shrinking? Eep!
Scott watched in silence, excited and terrified as the transformation continued. Just what sort of person was he turning into?
