"Karyn, you don't know how good it is to..." He started, turning and looking up. "...see you," he trailed off.
"I just wanted to check on you," she said. "I...just had this feeling something was wrong. What is it?" She asked.
Jon took a breath. "Nothing looks different about me to you, does it?"
"Jeeze, Jon-boy...you know how I hate when you ask questions like that. Is that a new top or something?"
Jon looked to see if Jay was still watching them, but he seemed to have wandered. "It's the stone. The one my grandfather gave me. Nicole has it. And she won't give it back unless I go out with her."
Karyn looked angry. "That bitch," she declared. "I'm going to give her a piece of my mind. No one does that to my best friend."
Jon felt rather comforted by that. "I just don't know how I'm going to live like this...I mean, you think this is all normal. But..."
Karyn looked at him. "What's all normal?"
The bell started to ring before Karyn could respond. "We'd better get to class. Tell me later, kay? And don't worry about Nicole."
