Jon read over Zoe's wish list. Some of the requests on it were probably a bit inappropriate for a 15-year-old girl, even if she was almost 16 -- not to mention the fact that he was his sister. And then there was the problem with the reality-changing effects -- he worried about what would happen to the rest of the world if a few of these things became true for Zoe.
**My entire wardrobe is sexy Goth clothes, leather & vinyl & latex etc. (need changes to school dress code?)
** My shoes all have high heels & my feet are comfortable wearing them all the time
**My hair dries really fast after I'm out of water & is always styled perfectly
** My fingernails & toenails always look like I've just had a manicure & pedicure (& grow back real fast if they break or whatever)
**I'm wearing magic makeup that always looks perfect & just the way I want it to
** Green eyes
**My boobs give yummy milk when anyone sucks on them, but don't even leak any other time
** Smooth porcelain skin that won't burn or tan & NO shaving needed (no body hair)
**No health problems from smoking & Mom lets me whenever I want
** All the tattoos and piercings I want (but I haven't even asked Mom 'cuz I know she'd say no)
* 6 inches taller
Jon gaped at the list. How did she even think of some of this stuff -- "yummy milk"?! At any rate, quickly looking over the list one more time, he said, "Okay, I guess I'll make you 6 inches taller and give you green eyes --"
He looked up at Zoe.
He looked further up than he thought, in fact. He hadn't yet consciously made a wish, but he was looking into piercing, emerald-green eyes, surrounded with thick black lashes and a generous coat of dark shadow. Her skin was so pale it seemed almost translucent. A handful of small silver rings went around each ear, with a matching one across her right eyebrow near the temple, and one dangling from her septum for good measure. She was still wearing a corset-style top, but now it was one that laced up the front to show off her ample cleavage and that was short enough to show off her stomach and the charm dangling from her pierced navel. She also wore a black vinyl miniskirt and thigh-high black leather lace-up boots with what looked like impossibly high platform heels. There was a colorful mermaid drawing on her upper right arm and a Celtic knot design wrapped around her upper left arm, and Jon figured he didn't really want to know where else she might have tattoos or piercings.
"Oh, my God, Zoe," he said. "Anything I think about, not even wish for, is coming true!"
Zoe, now looking like a Gothic fantasy come to life, stared at her brother.
