With a newfound feeling of confidence, Patty turned corner down the hall and walked back to Ms. Tran's chemistry class for the second time that day. Although she already had this class that morning, Lauren hadn't yet. She was a little disappointed that she didn't get to see her new boyfriend Jake in the hallway like Lauren usually did before class but it gave her something to look forward to later that afternoon. As she set foot inside the classroom, Patty began feeling nervous. This was her first interaction with somebody else since she became Lauren. She had no idea what to expect but did her best to stay calm and try to act like Lauren would.
All the other students were already seated and Ms. Tran looked like she was about to begin class. Patty was glad that she didn't have to figure out where Lauren's assigned seat was. Looking up Ms Tran gave an unsatisfactory glare “Glad to see you finally found your way here Ms. Rodriguez.” she said. Normally Patty was more of a model student in the eyes of teachers but Patty already knew that Lauren was barely above average. In the back of her mind, Patty thought about how she wanted to live out her new life as Lauren Rodriguez. Part of her wanted to have fun and enjoy what was left of high school and another part of her wanted to improve her diminished academic standing.
Smiling back, Patty responded with “I'm sorry Ms. Tran. I'm having an off day today” as she walked over to her new seat. She felt a feeling a relief that nobody looked at her oddly or made fun of her like people usually did when teachers weren't looking. It was a nice but unfamiliar feeling. She quickly had to shrug it off though as Ms. Tran quickly moved into the lesson.
The class flew by for Patty as she took the same notes that she already did earlier that morning. She was shocked with how poorly Lauren normally took notes in her binder. The new and improved 'Lauren' wouldn't have that issue Patty thought to herself. Class however was a bit more challenging for Patty than she had anticipated. She found her thoughts periodically wandering over to the thoughts of Jake. Lauren's and now her new boyfriend. With the lot that mother nature dealt to Patty, she had been arguably the most avoided girl in school by guys. With Lauren's new life, the prospect of having not only having a relationship with a boy, but a cute one like Jake got Patty's hormones fired up. She was really looking forward to her first kiss while her body was looking forward to the possibility of sex.
As soon as the bell rang and class ended, Patty gathered her new things and made her way out into the hall in search of her new boyfriend.
