Lauren sat in the passenger seat of Susan Davis' car and stared out the window as she drove where she and Patty lived. Lauren had a complete meltdown in the bathroom and even peed herself as she laid on the floor crying. Eventually one of the janitors found her and got the assistant principal. She wanted to tell somebody what happened but knew nobody would believe her. After spending almost an hour in the nurses office sobbing without an explanation, Patty's or now technically her new mother came to pick her up and take her home.
Lauren didn't know much about Patty's mother aside from being an attorney and a single mother. She looked like she was in her late thirties with a more stylish bob hairstyle that was dyed blonde. She was a bit plump but nowhere near as overweight as Patty was. She also didn't have to wear thick glasses like she now did.
"I can't believe you sometimes Patricia..." Susan lectured Lauren as she drove to their home. Lauren was in too much of a state of shock to react to care about being lectured by a woman she didn't even know. Susan continued "We've talked about this countless times. You're almost out of high school and none of these people will matter anymore. How can I let you go off to college next year if you're going to break down like this from being teased?" she asked Lauren.
Lauren didn't know how to respond. She tried to think of something to say while the image of "Fatty Patty" was stuck in her head. Everybody who now saw her would see and treat her as Patty Davis now. She wasn't the most popular girl in school but all her friends and family would see her as a stranger now ...fat and ugly stranger.
"I'm talking to you young lady!" Susan said as she brought back Lauren's attention to where she was at. As she looked out the window again, Lauren saw that they were pulling into the driveway of a nice looking house in a suburb.
Susan put her car in park and stared at Lauren waiting for an answer. "I... I don't know how to explain what happened today..." Lauren stuttered. She was being honest in a way that Patty's mother wouldn't understand.
"We'll discuss this more when I get home later tonight. This charade of yours pulled me away from a client and now I'll have to work late to make up time." Susan said coldly.
Lauren didn't know Patty's mother but it appeared to her that she was not the sympathetic or nurturing type. This made her miss her own mother even more. She wanted to go to her home and to her family but they would likely think she was crazy and call the police. And the last thing Lauren needed right now was get in trouble or locked up in an institution with a straitjacket. She needed to figure out how she switched places with Patty and find a way undo this. She was sure it had something to do with that wish she idly made.
However the first thing she needed to do was get out of these wet clothes and get cleaned up. The prospect of willingly putting on more of Patty Davis' clothes made her want to gag.
