"This cake is really good," Jon said, trying to make conversation. "Back to your birthday wish, asking for a hundred wishes is just a cop-out. What would you really wish for?"
"Wishes again?" Joseph said as he finished his cake, "What's with you today? Hmm, I guess I wish for a million dollars."
Jon squinted, expecting a millions dollars to appear right in front of them. Nothing happened. Jon grabbed the stone in his pocket and mumbled, "I wish I always knew what Joseph wished for and how it was granted. Also, I wish to know how many wishes he has left." The rock warmed in agreement.
Jon felt knowledge seep into him. Joseph's bank account just increased one million dollars. Jon also knew that Joseph had ninety-nine wishes left.
"Did you say something?"
"Nope." Jon figured this wish was not too bad. He just needed to guide Joseph to make ninety-nine useless wishes.
