Jon sat quietly in the car with Joseph as they made their way to the cafe. Joseph was listening to a song on the radio while Jon thought hard about how he was going to get out of this situation.
"Wait," thought Jon, "I can't directly influence Joseph's wishes, but I can use the stone to create a situation that Joseph would have to wish his way out of."
Jon looked to his left to see if Joseph was looking his way, he wasn't. Then Jon reached into his pocket, grabbed the stone and whispered,"I wish that this car would have a rear tire blow out 30 seconds from now. I wish that the tire blowing out wouldn't make Joseph lose control of the car. I wish that Jon didn't have a spare tire."
Jon let go of the rock and waited. A loud pop, almost like a gunshot, pierced the air. Joseph yelled "shit" as loud as he could and then slowly pulled over to the shoulder.
Joseph and Jon got out of the car and inspected the tire.
"Ah shit, it's torn to ribbons and I don't have a spare," yelled Joseph. He walked over to the shredded tire and gave it a kick.
"Man, I bet you wish that you had a new spare tire," said Jon.
Joseph scratched his head and said "Man, I wish...."
