Karyn looked thoughtful for another moment and then muttered, "How should I phrase this..." She stepped toward Jon and eyed him up making him tremble.
"P-please Karyn, d-don't do anything mean!"
She circled around him once and then stepped back over to Becky. "You know, Becky, your little brother probably likes this. It was my idea the first time, but he keeps bugging me to do this with him, so I think I'll oblige."
"Karyn, no! Please!!" Jon started to cry now, humiliated that Karyn would tell anyone about this, especially in this situation.
"What does he bug you to do?"
"Oh, I convinced him to let me paint his nails a couple times a long time ago, and now whenever we get a few hours he has me paint them."
Jon was shocked. Not only did she betray him, but she handed his sister knowledge that would humiliate him for probably the rest of his life.
"Oh my god!" Becky and the other girls giggled at this revelation.
"What color do you usually paint them?" Paige was almost crying with laughter at this point.
"Well, usually just red or blue, but I think he likes pink the best." Karyn turned and gave Jon a look that told him that this wasn't the Karyn he knew anymore. His life was literally ruined and there was nothing he could do about it.
"But, he usually keeps his nails so short. I wish Jon's nails would grow to be two inches long and be shaped and buffed into pretty, feminine ovals."
This renewed the laughter from the three girls, and when he felt his fingers stop tingling, Jon lifted his hands to look at his long nails.
Becky asked Karyn, "Why didn't you paint them with that wish?"
"Because we do need to be careful. I think you've already caused some problems that we're going to have trouble fixing, so we can't make any more wishes that will be permanent."
Becky looked completely bewildered and stopped laughing completely, but Paige and Dawn kept giggling and making comments about Jon's appearance, seemingly not noticing this new conversation between Karyn and Becky. Jon however realized that Karyn WAS still in there and probably doing her best to fight against the wish that Becky imposed upon her.
"What do you mean? We have the wishing stone, we can fix this, no problem."
Karyn shook her head and said, "I wish Jon's lovely fingernails to be painted bubblegum pink to match the color of the lipstick he is also wearing right now."
The girls were forced to look away for a moment and then Dawn and Paige renewed their gigglefit and Karyn giggled too. Becky was looking quite alarmed however.
