"Hey, Jason?", your mom called.
You quickly hide the hilt under your pillow before she opens the door to your bedroom.
"I just got off the phone with Lucy. Her parents are going on a business trip for the next two weeks, and she asked if she could stay over here in the meantime."
"Oh, cool!"
"I knew you'd be happy to hear that. She'll be sleeping in the guest bedroom near you."
As your mother leaves, you have an idea - why not use Lucy as a test subject? It may seem weird to use a katana on a family member you were particularly close to, but since it was apparently reality-altering, she wouldn't mind. Or perhaps you could try telling her the truth about the katana, and seeing what she wants to do.
About an hour later, Lucy arrives with her bags.
"Hi, Jason!" she greets you with a hug.
"Great to see you again, cuz!" you said, reciprocating her hug.
After thinking it over, you know what you want to do.
