Breakfast time

He got as far as the nearest McDonald's before realizing that, in his enthusiasm, he'd come out without breakfast. With even his wildest fantasies unable to appease his growling stomach, Jon headed in to get something to eat. Even at the relatively early hour, there were still a few groups of customers in the restaurant "“ a couple of families, a mother with a complaining child, a few shift workers, and a smattering of others. Finding himself a table, Jon sat down to eat. He started as the box carrying the rock dropped from his pocket, and swiftly retrieved it. Setting the stone down on the seat next to him, Jon idly flipped the lid.
