Nick headed in to the bathroom to get ready to shower. He was about to start undressing, then remembering that it wasn't necessary, thought to himself "I guess I don't need the glove in there", and focused his thoughts on removing the glove. The panties and t-shirt he was wearing flowed away until he was naked again, but the glove did not rematerialize. He concentrated again, but still nothing. Unnoticed by Nick, the silk sheets on the bed dissolved away, leaving only a basic mattress cover.
"Great..." thought Nick, "I'm starting to think that maybe magic isn't all that worthwhile. Oh well, I'll add it to my questions... at least he should know a lot about the glove."
Nick proceeded to get into the shower anyway, and turned on the water. It was harsher than he was used to, and he realized that Megan's more sensitive skin was feeling everything more than usual, but after some adjustment it started to feel very nice.
He was briefly tempted to do some more exploring in the shower, but the shopkeeper's warnings made him decide that he would do well to avoid any delays. The hot water everywhere did feel good, but he washed as quickly as he could, avoiding doing too much down around Megan's privates. Of course, Nick's paltry array of soaps and shampoo (i.e. one of each) weren't very feminine, but that suited him fine for now.
He stepped out of the shower, and then remembered his towel was still in the laundry basket in the bedroom. But then, fabric flowed around him, until a plush, fluffy towel was wrapped around him, like girls do, quickly followed by a smaller towel wrapping around his head, to keep his hair from dripping. Nick admitted to himself that though he was distrustful of the glove's behavior, it was mighty useful.
Dressing was therefore a simple matter, and after a quick decision, Nick found himself wearing some nicely fitting jeans and a simple blouse. The shoulder-length hair hanging from his head was another matter. Nick's own hair was always short and pretty low-maintenance, to the point where he didn't even have a blow-dryer, but he'd seen Megan take 20-30 minutes fussing with her hair sometimes. Suddenly, his hair was pulled back and bound into a ponytail by a ribbon. Though it was still damp, it would be good enough, he thought.
Nick of course had no make-up of any kind, but he wasn't sure he would know what to do with it anyway. Besides, he usually thought that Megan looked fine without any make-up, certainly for everyday purposes. She always did assorted things Nick knew little about that she insisted were essential, and now, looking in the mirror, Nick kind of wished that he knew more about that, as he started to see some minor flaws here and there that he never would have paid attention to in his girlfriend.
