It rang. "Greetings" said a friendly voice.
"Uh.. hello? Is this the owner of the magic shop?" Nick said, realizing he did not remember seeing any reference to a store name.
"Why yes, of course. Are you looking for a particular item?"
"Uh, well, not really... I have a question about one I already got." Nick replied, then added "I was in there yesterday... I was the gu... uh, the girl who walked in when that guy was trying to rob you."
"Ahhh, yes of course!" he warmed noticeably "The lovely young lady who saved me quite a lot of hassle. I trust you have found the glove to your liking? Or is this what you wanted to discuss?"
"Um... not really. I mean, yes it works fine... maybe a little too well, since I seem to have trouble getting it to not change my outfit. But that's not the real problem. I have something else, and it isn't working the way it was supposed to, so I was wondering if you would know anything about it."
"Hmm... perhaps I can be of some assistance, though of course beyond my own stock, I can't promise anything, especially if it was purchased at one of my competitors. As to the glove, I think I do remember that the previous owner had tuned it to a fairly high sensitivity. I can recalibrate it for you, though this would increase the time it takes to complete a transformation."
"Um, yes well that might be good. But as to the other problem... uh well you see it's maybe a bit hard to explain," Nick replied hesitantly, suddenly aware that he may have to tell this guy that he wasn't really a woman. "but I used an item to transform myself, and it was supposed to change me back, but it's not working"
"Hmm, yes well I had noticed an aura of residual transmogrificative magics. Tell me, was this item sold to you by some sort of bathrobe-clad wizard in a mall shop? Or was it gypsies? Gypsies are notorious for not following proper reversal procedures, you know." Mr. Fisk was beginning to sound agitated.
